Rabbet's New Interface: What's Changed and Why
We redesigned Rabbet around four principles
We've spent the past year rebuilding the parts of Rabbet you work in every day.
Partly because we wanted to improve clarity, consistency, reliability, and speed. And partly because the old system had started to limit us. It was dated, it could be slow, and it was making it harder to ship the things you've been asking for.
So we rebuilt it around four principles.
1. Software you'd want to spend the day in
You're in Rabbet for hours, not minutes. The new interface has bigger text, sharper contrast, more space between things, and layouts that make better use of your screen.
Dark mode is also now available from your user menu and follows your system setting.
2. Cut the manual tax, including our own
Our job is to take unnecessary work out of your day. We realized some of that work was coming from Rabbet itself.
The homepage now opens with a summary across your portfolio, so you can see where things stand before clicking into a project. Project settings has been rebuilt with a sidebar, searchable rules, and a save bar that shows what's pending.
3. Certainty at the moment you click
A click in Rabbet can put millions of dollars in motion. The important action on a page should be obvious, and you should know what happened when you take it.
We've created a clearer hierarchy for actions and added plain-language confirmation when changes take effect.
4. Beat the spreadsheet at its own game
A lot of development work still happens in a grid. So we rebuilt our tables rather than trying to move away from them.
You can now resize, reorder, and freeze columns, group information in more ways, and save views so you can come back to them exactly as you left them.
The rebuild also gives us a better foundation for what comes next. Improvements from here can reach you faster.
What's next
This release is about more than a new look. We removed some of the limitations that had been slowing us down and created a better foundation for the product going forward.
The goal is straightforward: make Rabbet clearer, more consistent, more reliable, and faster to use.
That's what this new chapter is about.
